Tailgating Tips for Football Season

Fall is finally here, which means one thing: it’s football season. With Carolina’s favorite pro and college football teams being so close to us in Clinton, it’s likely a lot of us will be out tailgating this autumn. To make the most of your experience, follow these tailgating tips at the next big game:

  1. Plan ahead. Make sure you pack everything you need—and it’s not just food and beer. You’ll also want to pack lots of ice (and other beverages to stay hydrated), paper/plastic plates and utensils, trash bags, sunscreen, blankets, jumper cables, and a first aid kit.
  2. Get there early. If you want a prime parking spot, you’ll have to wake up early to beat the crowds. Look for a spot near grass at the end of a row. This will give you space to play games, pull out the grill, and relax.
  3. Support your team. Wear your team’s colors, decorate your space, and fly your team’s flag. Tailgating is all about supporting the team you love.
  4. Keep it clean. Not only should you thoroughly clean up your area before heading into the stadium for the game, but also keep your behavior clean. Remember, there are families at these events, so watch what you say and what you do at all times.

Nissan Frontier - Fuel Efficient Trucks

Nissan Frontier – Fuel Efficient Trucks

The 2014 Nissan Frontier and the 2014 Nissan Titan are named among the “Top 9 Most Fuel Efficient Trucks for 2014,” by Edmunds.com. With the Frontier tied for 2nd and the Titan finishing 9th, Nissan might the most fuel efficient company around.

“People have associated pickup trucks with low gas mileage for many years, but we’re defeating that stereotype,” said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations. “We’ve worked hard to produce pickups that not only provide excellent towing capability and ample cargo space, but also impressive fuel efficiency.”

Year after year Edmunds.com compiles “Top 10” lists for virtually every automotive category, including one dedicated to fuel-efficient trucks. Currently the list only includes models powered b gas and uses the stats based their EPA-estimated combined fuel economy ratings.

Nissan Tests New PRO4X Trucks in Southeast Texas “Gumbo” Mud

2013 Nissan TitanNatives of Southeast Texas are surrounded by some of the most unforgiving swampy territory in the United States. In fact, the mud there is so thick locals call it “gumbo” mud. This region is where Nissan took its newest breed of truck, the PRO4X series, for some serious off-road testing.

Hosting the testing was Sure-Shot Game Calls, which produces world class duck calls. Local media attended the event and were able to put the Nissan trucks through intense testing and drive through the thickest mud they could find.

Hillary Dyer, editor for Waterfowl and Retriever, said to Nissan, “We sure enough tried to bury these things. And I mean we tried. We just couldn’t do it. We got stuck for just a second and we were able to rock ourselves right out.”

What makes the PRO4X trucks so unstoppable are the added features, such as aggressive tires, a rear-locking differential, and an off-road tuned suspension.

We can’t wait until these trucks make it to production. Watch this video to see the mud sloshing in action or come test drive a new Nissan truck for yourself at the Nissan dealership here in Clinton, NC.

Nissan Trucks in Action

Nissan Titan Race TruckHere at Nissan of Clinton, we love the great performance vehicles made by Nissan like the 370Z and the 2013 Nissan Maxima. One area of performance that often gets forgotten is the world of off-road trucks. The Nissan Titan is one of the best performing off-roaders on the market and when the race prepped Titans take to the track, it’s a real thing of wonder.

Nissan Titan drivers Carl Renezeder and Casey Currie get to experience sensations that most of us could never imagine. Jumping a 4,000 pound, 900 horsepower machine through the air, sometimes up to 200 feet and as much as 30 feet high, in the middle of a race is just a regular day at work for these guys.
