Best Nissans for Recent Grads: Altima, Rogue, Sentra

Looking for the best Nissans for recent grads? There are a number of options to choose from, and the Altima, Rogue, and Sentra are among the best for several reasons. Not only are they affordable, but they are also safe, versatile, and advanced. When you drive any of these three Nissan models, you get all the great features of a luxury or high-performance car without breaking the bank.

The Altima is a sporty sedan that has the perfect combination of athletic appeal and quality design. Recent grads have a lot on their mind, including student loans, job applications, and more. According to Nissan, the Altima is an ideal car for these buyers because it comes with features like a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an Xtronic CVT—a fuel-sipping powertrain that saves you money without sacrificing performance. So, while you’re making payments on student loans and driving to interviews, you’ll save at the pump while also truly loving your ride.

Additionally, the Rogue is perfect for those who want an SUV. Many recent grads are migrating to big cities, which makes the Rogue—a compact SUV—an ideal choice. You can easily fit a bike, camping equipment, or whatever else you need for your next adventure without buying a massive SUV. The Rogue is the perfect SUV for recent grads.

Finally, the Sentra is a practical sedan that looks fantastic. You can get up to 37 mpg highway* when properly equipped, while the contoured exterior is bound to turn some heads. This model also has Bluetooth®, NissanConnect℠, and more. Stop by Nissan of Clinton to test drive the Sentra, as well as the Altima or Rogue.

Go for the Ride of Your Life in the 2014 Nissan Altima

2014 Nissan AltimaIn a recent campaign, Nissan’s “Ride of Your Life” put five unsuspecting individuals into the passenger seat of Nissan’s “most advanced Altima racecar”. After a quick briefing, each of the passengers was directed to a modified Altima with a dedicated racing driver behind the helm. Buckled into a five-point harness and fitted with an open-face helmet, each passenger was then sent on their way around the one-mile track.

Little did they know, though, the Altimas they were riding in were only very lightly modified. Aside from some cosmetic changes, including a bolt-on spoiler, black wheel covers, body cladding, a racing livery, and aluminum interior facades, the only real “performance” upgrade was a modified exhaust that allowed for more engine noise.

After the lap, it was revealed to the guests that their cars were actually just normal 2014 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL passenger vehicles and that they had been tricked into believing they were race cars on the same level as the V8 Supercar Altima! After getting over the initial shock, each passenger was surprised that a four-door car could handle and drive the way their Altimas just had. Check out the video below and don’t miss your chance to go on your own Ride of Your Life and take an Altima for a test drive here at Nissan of Clinton!

2014 Nissan Altima Places on KBB’s 12 Best Family Car List

2014 Nissan AltimaKelley Blue Book (www.KBB.com) has released their 12 Best Family Cars of 2014 list, and it is certainly not without its share of surprises. Chief among them is the fact that a quarter of the vehicles appearing on the list are sedans. Here at Nissan of Clinton, we don’t much mind, nor are we terribly surprised that one of the Best Family Cars of 2014 happens to be the 2014 Nissan Altima.

KBB admits that the Altima did little to draw attention to itself during their family-car testing, and that the reason it walks away at the end of the day with Best Family Car distinction is a matter of substance.

“The Altima is roomy, surprisingly so, and it packs a lot inside, too. The layout’s easy to use, the front and rear seats are comfortable, and it’s easy to install and uninstall child booster seats. More importantly, it doesn’t do anything really wrong, either. The features you need are standard, and if they aren’t, they’re probably on the options list.”

Of course, it’s not as though the 2014 Altima is any ol’ Sarah, Plain and Tall, either. It looks good, drives well, and delivers more than enough performance to surprise even the most demanding driver.

But where the 2014 Altima really excels is space…the final frontier. Okay, not that space (we’ve just always wanted to say that). KBB plaudits the Altima for seemingly defying physics with its spacious and roomy interior. Comfort is a vital factor in a family vehicle, and the Altima scores big in this department.

But don’t just take our word for it (or even the word of KBB for that matter): come down to Nissan of Clinton this weekend and test drive the 2014 Nissan Altima for yourself. If you’ve got a growing family, chances are that you’ll be glad you did.

Nissan Helps You Drive Safe with Smart Auto Headlights

2013 Nissan Altima HeadlightIt can be tough to remember every single rule and regulation of the road at times. There are some very specific guidelines that drivers are technically supposed to follow and sometimes they can slip your mind, especially during challenging situations and inclement weather. For instance, did you know that in North Carolina drivers are required to use headlights during times between sunset and sunrise, when visibility is less than 400 feet, or when windshield wipers are in use?

Rules about headlight use vary by state as well so if you frequently drive into other states you would have to remember a whole new set of laws. Nissan has made this confusing set of regulations a bit easier for drivers by introducing Smart Auto Headlights on vehicles like the Nissan Altima, Nissan Pathfinder, and Nissan Sentra. This system will automatically turn on headlights when low lighting is detected or when the windshield wipers are in use! Check out the infographic below for more state laws and be sure to stop by Nissan of Clinton to check out this system and others like Nissan’s Easy Fill Tire Alert on our new vehicles.

Nissan Heisman House

Nissan’s new ad campaign, Nissan Heisman House, targets football fans by featuring Heisman Trophy winners and Nissan vehicles in commercials that can make anyone laugh. The football stars encounter rivalry and personal space issues that seem all too believable. The commercials feature 12 of the trophy winners, including two-time winner Archie Griffin and “the rook” RG3. It’s always fun to see these guys try their hand at commercials and Nissan gets to showcase vehicles like the Nissan LEAF, Altima, Pathfinder, Titan, and 370Z.

Important Factors to Consider When Shopping for a New Car

Shopping for a new car might seem complicated, but it doesn’t have to be. With this helpful guide, you will never have to feel lost on a dealership lot again. Here are some of the most important factors to consider when shopping for a new car:

Safety and Security

In order to help mitigate the risks of the road, you should always consider a vehicle’s safety systems before deciding to buy it. Driving a car with less than par safety systems is a risk no one should take, so when perusing your choices, make sure you consider cars with airbags, anti-lock brakes, and traction control. Remember, the more airbags that deploy during a collision, the less likely you are to suffer trauma in the event of an accident.

Engine Performance and Handling

Driving a car that is fun is one way to eliminate a boring commute to work every day, and a high performance vehicle has the power and grip necessary for a thrilling ride. When you are considering a car, ask the sales associate about its horsepower and skid-pad performance. The horsepower of the car will enable you to gauge its power against other models, and the skid-pad ratings will provide you with similar information for handling characteristics.

Features and Functionality

You should also consider the ergonomics and features of a car that are related to entertainment. Compact disc players and satellite radio aren’t as important as seatbelts, so they should not eclipse essential safety features as far as your buying priorities go. If you find yourself stuck between two options, however, comparing the entertainment features can help tip the balance toward one vehicle.
