Nissan Frontier – Fuel Efficient Trucks

The 2014 Nissan Frontier and the 2014 Nissan Titan are named among the “Top 9 Most Fuel Efficient Trucks for 2014,” by Edmunds.com. With the Frontier tied for 2nd and the Titan finishing 9th, Nissan might the most fuel efficient company around.

“People have associated pickup trucks with low gas mileage for many years, but we’re defeating that stereotype,” said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations. “We’ve worked hard to produce pickups that not only provide excellent towing capability and ample cargo space, but also impressive fuel efficiency.”

Year after year Edmunds.com compiles “Top 10” lists for virtually every automotive category, including one dedicated to fuel-efficient trucks. Currently the list only includes models powered b gas and uses the stats based their EPA-estimated combined fuel economy ratings.

Nissan Trucks Gathers Input from Outdoorsman for the Nissan Titan

2014 Nissan TitanNissan understands that outdoors enthusiasts and hunters make up a good portion of drivers in the market for a full size pickup like the Nissan Titan. It was for just this reason that Nissan introduced the Project Titan campaign at the 2014 Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoors show in Las Vegas. The purpose of this campaign is to get real-world input from drivers and potential buyers of Nissan’s largest and most capable truck. At a rifle and skeet shooting range in Boulder City, NV, the Nissan Titan was on display with a real-world off-road challenge course to show off its current capabilities in PRO-4X guise.

Nissan’s Rich Miller took the opportunity to gather feedback from drivers and interested customers. A lot of the major hype was centered around the new partnership with Cummins to put a turbo-diesel in the upcoming Titan, making it the ultimate off-road truck. Since the whole purpose of Project Titan is to define and build the ultimate off-road truck, the entire event has been considered a success. Nissan Titan Set to Conquer Truck Market in 2014

2014 Nissan TitanThe 2014 Nissan Titan is here—it’s been on sale since September, in fact—and it’s looking to live up to its name in the new calendar year. With all the wildness and major changes happening in the pickup truck market recently, Nissan opted to stay the course with the Titan. They expect their proven winner to conquer a market full of untested newcomers.

This hope is far from unfounded, too. While there are no major changes or upgrades for the 2014 Titan, the truck again comes in either King Cab or Crew Cab styles, and each style comes in four models: the baseline S, SV, PRO-4X, and the deluxe SL. The truck’s 5.6L V8 engine mates to a five-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive to give drivers monster handling and power. The Titan outputs 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft torque, making it one of the most powerful trucks on the current market.

Nissan’s promotional materials say the truck “works as hard as you do” and calls it a 317 horsepower toolbox, and, with a maximum towing power of 9500 lbs, that’s no joke. But inside the truck is lots of fun, too. NissanConnect integrates you to your phone, music, Bluetooth, navigation, rearview camera, and more.

Come by Nissan of Clinton and see why, in a time where other truck manufacturers are scrambling to create a better product, the 2014 Titan stands as a constant example of established excellence.

Nissan Tests New PRO4X Trucks in Southeast Texas “Gumbo” Mud

2013 Nissan TitanNatives of Southeast Texas are surrounded by some of the most unforgiving swampy territory in the United States. In fact, the mud there is so thick locals call it “gumbo” mud. This region is where Nissan took its newest breed of truck, the PRO4X series, for some serious off-road testing.

Hosting the testing was Sure-Shot Game Calls, which produces world class duck calls. Local media attended the event and were able to put the Nissan trucks through intense testing and drive through the thickest mud they could find.

Hillary Dyer, editor for Waterfowl and Retriever, said to Nissan, “We sure enough tried to bury these things. And I mean we tried. We just couldn’t do it. We got stuck for just a second and we were able to rock ourselves right out.”

What makes the PRO4X trucks so unstoppable are the added features, such as aggressive tires, a rear-locking differential, and an off-road tuned suspension.

We can’t wait until these trucks make it to production. Watch this video to see the mud sloshing in action or come test drive a new Nissan truck for yourself at the Nissan dealership here in Clinton, NC.

Nissan and Cummins Enter Into Contract for Diesel Powered Titan

Cummins Nissan Titan Turbo DieselThe Nissan Titan is a capable and attractive full-size pickup truck. After a recent minor redesign, customers continue to express their satisfaction in the truck. However, Nissan feels that there are still some customers out there that might prefer the additional torque and performance of a diesel powered truck without making the jump to a heavy-duty model.

Cummins Turbo DieselIn order to hit this area of the market, Nissan and Cumminc Inc. will team up to produce the first ever diesel powered pickup truck from a Japan-based automaker. The Cummins engine manufacturing facility in Columbus, IN will supply a powerful 5.0-liter V8 turbodiesel to be installed in the trucks at Nissan’s Canton, MS plant.

“There is no question that the new Titan will turn heads.” Said Fred Diaz, vice president for North American Nissan sales and Marketing.
