Nissan Reveals redesigned 2016 Altima

2015 Nissan Altima

The new 2016 Nissan Altima is so noteworthy that not one, not two, but three whopping official Nissan press releases were written up about the car.

Fortunately, you won’t have to scour through all of that to get all the juicy details. Just read on below for those.

The redesigned 2016 Altima received a major facelift for its mid-cycle refresh, inspired by what the automaker calls “energetic flow,” the influence of which you can already find on the 2015 Murano and 2016 Maxima at Nissan of Clinton.

The interior has been redesigned with a higher emphasis on comfort and technology, including advanced Zero Gravity front seats—standard on all trims—and NissanConnect with Mobile Apps. There’s also a whole bunch of new safety features, like Predictive Forward Collision Warning and Intelligent Cruise control, among others.

The sedan’s fuel economy has been bumped up nicely to 39 mpg highway, the highest figure for any vehicle in the midsize segment. The increase can be attributed to higher aerodynamic efficiency and smooth Xtronic transmission.

If all those changes sound good to you, we’ll be offering the new 2016 Nissan Altima very soon at Nissan of Clinton!

Nissan Altima Recognized as Best Retained Value® Among Mid-Size Sedans

Nissan AltimaWe are pleased to announce the 2014 Nissan Altima is adding to its list of awards and honors, further distinguishing itself from the competitive class of mid-size sedans. Earlier this month, the car received the award for Best Retained Value in its segment from popular automotive resource, Edmunds.com.

The 2014 model was already recognized as a “Top Rated Vehicle” and one of the “2014 Most Popular Midsize Cars” by the website; and we at Nissan of Clinton are excited to add this award to the Altima’s list of honors.

As a class-leader in value retention, the 2014 Altima had the highest “cash” True Market Value® price among mid-size sedans after its first five months on sale. That means it is predicted to also have the highest residual value after five years of ownership.

“With thoughtful technology and 38 mpg highway fuel economy, the 2014 Nissan Altima continues to be a top contender in an extremely competitive class,” said Fred Diaz, Nissan senior vice president of Sales & Marketing and Operations.

“Built to inspire and withstand the elements of time, the Altima was designed to satisfy the needs of owners today, tomorrow and for years to come. This recognition from Edmunds.com further solidifies the Altima’s place among the best and most valuable vehicles on the road.”

Cars.com Chooses 2014 Nissan Altima as Most Affordable Midsize Sedan

2014 Nissan AltimaDuring the month of April, sales of the 2014 Nissan Altima continued to explode as more and more customers settle on this smooth-running and comfortable family sedan. Aside from the successful, record-breaking month of sales, the Altima also enjoyed some recognition as Cars.com named it their Most Affordable Midsize Sedan for the year!

Two contributing factors to the Altima’s success in the segment are its great gas mileage and very good crash test results. To even be considered for Cars.com’s most affordable midsize sedan challenge, the Altima needed to meet a number of criteria and to have several features, including cruise control, an automatic transmission, Bluetooth connectivity, power windows, a USB port, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a rear-view camera. The Altima met each of these requirements and went even further, offering a low five-year estimated fuel cost and a great warranty with dependable construction that keep cost of ownership down.

“The 2014 Nissan Altima is equipped with an abundance of features that meet the growing expectations of our consumers, while still remaining a cost-effective vehicle to own,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations. “Year-over-year sales growth and an expanding list of accolades like this recognition from Cars.com demonstrate why Altima continues to be a leader in the midsize segment.”

Go for the Ride of Your Life in the 2014 Nissan Altima

2014 Nissan AltimaIn a recent campaign, Nissan’s “Ride of Your Life” put five unsuspecting individuals into the passenger seat of Nissan’s “most advanced Altima racecar”. After a quick briefing, each of the passengers was directed to a modified Altima with a dedicated racing driver behind the helm. Buckled into a five-point harness and fitted with an open-face helmet, each passenger was then sent on their way around the one-mile track.

Little did they know, though, the Altimas they were riding in were only very lightly modified. Aside from some cosmetic changes, including a bolt-on spoiler, black wheel covers, body cladding, a racing livery, and aluminum interior facades, the only real “performance” upgrade was a modified exhaust that allowed for more engine noise.

After the lap, it was revealed to the guests that their cars were actually just normal 2014 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL passenger vehicles and that they had been tricked into believing they were race cars on the same level as the V8 Supercar Altima! After getting over the initial shock, each passenger was surprised that a four-door car could handle and drive the way their Altimas just had. Check out the video below and don’t miss your chance to go on your own Ride of Your Life and take an Altima for a test drive here at Nissan of Clinton!

2014 Nissan Altima Places on KBB’s 12 Best Family Car List

2014 Nissan AltimaKelley Blue Book (www.KBB.com) has released their 12 Best Family Cars of 2014 list, and it is certainly not without its share of surprises. Chief among them is the fact that a quarter of the vehicles appearing on the list are sedans. Here at Nissan of Clinton, we don’t much mind, nor are we terribly surprised that one of the Best Family Cars of 2014 happens to be the 2014 Nissan Altima.

KBB admits that the Altima did little to draw attention to itself during their family-car testing, and that the reason it walks away at the end of the day with Best Family Car distinction is a matter of substance.

“The Altima is roomy, surprisingly so, and it packs a lot inside, too. The layout’s easy to use, the front and rear seats are comfortable, and it’s easy to install and uninstall child booster seats. More importantly, it doesn’t do anything really wrong, either. The features you need are standard, and if they aren’t, they’re probably on the options list.”

Of course, it’s not as though the 2014 Altima is any ol’ Sarah, Plain and Tall, either. It looks good, drives well, and delivers more than enough performance to surprise even the most demanding driver.

But where the 2014 Altima really excels is space…the final frontier. Okay, not that space (we’ve just always wanted to say that). KBB plaudits the Altima for seemingly defying physics with its spacious and roomy interior. Comfort is a vital factor in a family vehicle, and the Altima scores big in this department.

But don’t just take our word for it (or even the word of KBB for that matter): come down to Nissan of Clinton this weekend and test drive the 2014 Nissan Altima for yourself. If you’ve got a growing family, chances are that you’ll be glad you did.
