The 2014 Nissan Titan is here—it’s been on sale since September, in fact—and it’s looking to live up to its name in the new calendar year. With all the wildness and major changes happening in the pickup truck market recently, Nissan opted to stay the course with the Titan. They expect their proven winner to conquer a market full of untested newcomers.
This hope is far from unfounded, too. While there are no major changes or upgrades for the 2014 Titan, the truck again comes in either King Cab or Crew Cab styles, and each style comes in four models: the baseline S, SV, PRO-4X, and the deluxe SL. The truck’s 5.6L V8 engine mates to a five-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive to give drivers monster handling and power. The Titan outputs 317 horsepower and 385 lb-ft torque, making it one of the most powerful trucks on the current market.
Nissan’s promotional materials say the truck “works as hard as you do” and calls it a 317 horsepower toolbox, and, with a maximum towing power of 9500 lbs, that’s no joke. But inside the truck is lots of fun, too. NissanConnect integrates you to your phone, music, Bluetooth, navigation, rearview camera, and more.
