Here at Nissan of Clinton in Clinton, NC we like to stay on top of concept vehicles and design experiments that come from Nissan. While many of these concepts will never become real production vehicles, they are a good look at the design language and engineering direction that the company is headed towards. One of the more recent concept vehicles to be previewed ahead of the Tokyo Motor Show is the Nissan BladeGlider Concept.
The Nissan BladeGlider Concept appears to be based on the racing team’s experimental Delta Wing car, a sleek and efficient race car with a tapered profile. The BladeGlider Concept makes use of the wedge shape for an agile and athletic stance and improved aerodynamics. Constructed out of advanced materials like carbon fiber, and making use of in-wheel electric motors, this would be a very stable and nimble sports car for the future. Unique upward-swinging doors open to a unique cockpit that utilizes a 1 + 2 seating configuration. The driver sits front and center with a passenger to either side and behind. Check out the preview footage below for a closer look and be sure to look out for more news about this concept from the Tokyo Motor Show.
