Juke Nismo Revealed at 2013 Tokyo Auto Show

Nissan Motor Company recently unveiled their all-new Juke Nismo at this year’s Tokyo Auto Show. The redesigned Juke Nismo is part of the new Nismo brand strategy, focused on premium high-performance sport vehicles for the Nissan brand. The new styling and performance features will set new standards in the automotive market.

The all-new Juke Nismo features a 1.6-liter direct injection turbocharged engine. While not all features have been released, it is expected to pack more power than the current base engine that delivers 188 horsepower and 177 lb-ft. of torque.  The all-new Xtronic CVT transmission features a 7-speed manual model that will provide a smooth, strong ride for Nismo drivers.

The Juke Nismo will also sport a unique, aerodynamic design. The front bumper is redesigned, with wider ends in order to redirect air around the front tires. This will eliminate drag. In order to increase downforce, the center part of the Nismo’s spoiler has been redesigned. Newly designed side skirts prevent air from flowing to the underbelly of the car while the roof spoiler is extended to decrease drag as well.

The interior received a sporty makeover this year. Suede-trimmed sport seats feature red stitching for a unique look. The steering wheel is Nissan’s first Alcantara-covered wheel that sports red stiching and a red center mark. New, soft materials are also featured inside so passengers feel comfortable and sporty while riding in the all-new Nismo.
